Custom composite parts

Custom composite components (such as door panels and valve plates) are specialized sealing elements manufactured using a “multi-material compounding + customized structural design” process, tailored to meet the specific sealing requirements of door panels and valve plates. Typically, these components are composed of a combination of an elastic sealing layer (e.g., rubber), a rigid support layer (e.g., metal or plastic), and a cushioning layer (e.g., sponge). The core objective is to address the challenges of ensuring reliable sealing performance and structural compatibility during the opening and closing of door panels and valve plates.

Product Details

Product Description
• Structural customization: Customize profiles based on the structural dimensions of door panels (such as fire doors, security doors, and industrial cabinet doors) and valve bodies (such as butterfly valves, gate valves, and globe valves)—including features like sealing groove width, door panel thickness, and valve sealing surface shape. Common profile types include strip-shaped seals (for door panel edges), annular seals (for valve seats), and specially shaped seals (for door panel corners and valve stems). These seals can be integrated with mounting structures—such as snap-fit mechanisms, grooves, or adhesive layers—eliminating the need for additional fasteners.
• Material composite system:
◦ Seal layer: EPDM (aging-resistant and water-resistant, used for outdoor door panels), NBR (oil-resistant, used for oil-stained door valves), silicone rubber (non-toxic, resistant to high and low temperatures, used for food-grade door valves), and fire-retardant rubber (such as neoprene, used for fire doors and compliant with GB 12955 fire protection standards).
◦ Support layer: It uses galvanized steel sheets, aluminum alloy profiles, and rigid PVC to provide structural strength and prevent deformation of the seals. The support layer has a thickness of 0.5 to 2 mm, ensuring a snug fit against the door panel or valve structure during installation.
◦ Buffer layer: Use closed-cell sponge (such as EPDM sponge), with a thickness of 1–5 mm, to absorb the impact force when the door panel closes and reduce noise (door-closing noise ≤ 40 dB).
• Performance indicators: The sealing performance meets IP65/IP66 protection ratings (for door panels) and has a leakage rate of ≤0.1% (for valves, compliant with GB/T 13927 valve sealing test standards). The temperature resistance range is -30℃ to 120℃ (standard) and -50℃ to 180℃ (customized for high-temperature applications). The service life is ≥100,000 switching cycles (for door panels) and ≥50,000 opening/closing cycles (for door valves).

Function
• Door panel functions: The gap between the sealing door panel and the door frame effectively blocks air, water, and dust from entering the interior space or equipment. At the same time, it offers sound insulation (soundproofing level ≥25 dB, compliant with GB/T 50121 sound insulation standards), thermal insulation (thermal conductivity ≤0.04 W/(m·K)), and fire resistance (fire-resistance rating ≥1 hour, suitable for fire doors). The seal is designed to accommodate frequent opening and closing of the door panel without any detachment or deformation.
• Gate valve function: The clearance between the valve seat and the valve core ensures a tight seal, preventing leakage of liquids (such as water, oil, and chemical reagents) and gases (such as natural gas and steam), thereby guaranteeing reliable sealing performance during valve opening and closing. At the same time, it is designed to withstand the friction generated during valve operation (such as the rotational friction of the butterfly valve core), thus avoiding rapid wear of the sealing elements.

Sealing mechanism
• Door panel sealing: When the door leaf is closed, the elastic sealing layer deforms under the compression between the door leaf and the door frame, filling the gap (gap size ≤ 5 mm) and forming a continuous sealing interface. The support layer ensures that the seal does not undergo excessive deformation under compression, thereby maintaining its original shape. The cushioning layer absorbs impact forces, preventing the sealing layer from being damaged by sudden, excessive pressure. In the case of fire-rated door seals, the fire-resistant rubber expands at high temperatures, creating an expanded sealing layer that effectively blocks the passage of flames and smoke.
• Door and valve sealing: When the valve is closed, the valve core compresses the sealing layer of the seal, causing the sealing layer to conform closely to the sealing surface of the valve seat—whether it’s a flat surface, a spherical surface, or a conical surface. The elasticity and media resistance of the sealing layer effectively prevent medium leakage. The support layer ensures that the seal remains stationary under the pressure exerted by the valve core, while also accommodating the valve’s opening and closing mechanism—for example, the rotary structure of a butterfly valve or the lifting structure of a gate valve. For high-pressure gate valves, the sealing layer is made of high-hardness rubber (Shore hardness 70–80A) to ensure that it won’t be punctured under pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Image name

What are the differences between perfluoroelastomer rubber, fluororubber, and fluorosilicone rubber?

Image name

Perfluoroether rubber, fluoroelastomer, and fluorosilicone rubber are all high-performance sealing materials, yet each has its own unique characteristics. Perfluoroether rubber boasts exceptional chemical resistance and high-temperature tolerance, enabling it to withstand extreme chemical environments and elevated temperatures, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications. Fluoroelastomer excels in oil resistance, heat resistance, and weatherability, and is widely used in industries such as automotive and aerospace. Fluorosilicone rubber combines the chemical resistance of fluoroelastomer with the high- and low-temperature resistance of silicone rubber, making it well-suited for applications that require both thermal stability and chemical resistance. These three materials differ in chemical structure, performance, and application scenarios; when selecting one, it’s essential to consider specific requirements.
